Inspire a love of language and literature. Build confident communicators. Make a lasting difference.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Teacher of English, with 2nd specialism in Drama an advantage but not essential, to join our successful and supportive English department on a 0.6 FTE (3 days per week) basis. The specific working days will be agreed with the successful candidate.

We are looking for a passionate teacher who can deliver engaging and ambitious lessons, inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, and foster a genuine love of reading, writing and literature

Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced practitioner, you will join a collaborative department with high expectations and a strong commitment to excellent teaching and learning.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Bring enthusiasm, creativity and a passion for English to the classroom.

  • Inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Foster a love of reading, writing and literature.
  • Work collaboratively and contribute positively to department and school life.

Why join The Romsey School?

We invest in our people and offer:

  • An excellent ECT programme and ongoing professional development.
  • Access to The National College and evidence-informed professional learning.
  • Support to undertake NPQs and work towards Chartered Teacher Status.
  • A 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and a strong focus on staff wellbeing.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme, eye care vouchers and free flu vaccinations.
  • Discounted lunches and free on-site parking.
  • Access to, and an employee discount at, our on-site nursery, Little Sunlights.
  • Opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and educational and international trips.
  • A welcoming and supportive school community where staff are valued and encouraged to flourish.

Ready to inspire the next generation of readers, writers and communicators?

We would love to hear from you.

Please submit your application as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to interview exceptional candidates before the closing date.
