Mayflower Community Academy, part of the Learning Academies Trust, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting children to achieve their full potential, both academically and personally, within a caring, inclusive and ambitious school community.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences and provide support that enables all children to succeed. You will help create a positive classroom environment, support pupils with additional needs, monitor progress and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teaching and learning activities across the curriculum
  • Working with individual pupils and small groups to maximise progress
  • Supporting children with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion
  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays and resources
  • Supporting educational visits and wider school activities

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds an NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Has GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
  • Has at least one year's experience working in a primary school
  • Can demonstrate a positive impact on children's learning and wellbeing
  • Has strong communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Is committed to safeguarding and supporting all children to succeed
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
