We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to join our fantastic team at Grange School.
This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The starting salary is £22,004 and the full time equivalent is £25,583 Grade 3.

About the role:As a Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN, you will work under the supervision of teaching staff and the senior leadership team to support pupils' learning, wellbeing, and development. You’ll play a vital role in helping pupils to become happy, confident and successful young adults.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting small groups of children and implementing Individual Learning Plans
- Assisting with supervision during teacher absence (short periods)
- Providing feedback on pupil progress and maintaining records
- Ensuring equal access to learning for all pupils
- Participating in relevant training and development
- Demonstrating commitment to performance management and continuous improvement
- Communicating effectively and professionally with pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies
We're Looking for applicants who:
- Have an understanding of the Teaching Assistant role and child development and learning
- Possesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (qualified to Level 2 or above)
- Works effectively as part of a team and is committed to high professional standards
- Is tactful, diplomatic, and able to build positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Has experience or a keen interest in working with children or young people with communication difficulties, severe, profound, or complex learning needs
- Can communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English
