Teaching Assistant Level 2, 1:1 support

William Brookes School · Much Wenlock · Shropshire

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant Level 2 to provide 1:1 support for a student with complex cognition and learning needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will support the student's educational, personal care and wellbeing needs both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Experience of working with children with MLD and SLD would be desirable for this post.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and creating an inclusive learning environment. You will help promote confidence, self-esteem and social inclusion, while contributing to the school's Learning and Wellbeing provision and wider SEND support.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Providing high-quality 1:1 support tailored to a student's individual learning, health and personal care needs.
  • Working with teachers to support learning, engagement and academic progress.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and supporting students within the Learning and Wellbeing Base where required.
  • Encouraging independence, resilience, confidence and positive relationships.
  • Contributing to the day-to-day work of the SEND department and supporting reviews of student progress.
  • Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and the overall ethos of the school.

This is a fixed-term position for two years in the first instance, working 37 hours per week, term time plus two PD days, offering an excellent opportunity to make a lasting difference to a young person's educational journey.
