This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical maintenance skills, strong organisational abilities and a commitment to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will act as a day-to-day maintenance contact for the site, undertaking a range of caretaking, security, maintenance and facilities management duties. Working closely with the Premises Manager and Operations Team, you will help ensure that our buildings and grounds remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose at all times.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes:
- Opening, closing and securing school buildings and grounds.
- Carrying out routine inspections and responding to maintenance issues.
- Undertaking general repairs, decorating and basic building maintenance tasks.
- Supporting health and safety compliance and maintaining associated records.
- Managing contractor access and monitoring completed works.
- Supporting cleaning, porterage and site presentation activities.
- Assisting with lettings, school events and occasional minibus-related duties.
- Promoting a positive and professional image of the school and the wider Cornwall Cluster.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has practical maintenance and repair experience.
- Has a good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Can work effectively using their own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Communicates well with colleagues, contractors, students and parents.
- Is flexible, reliable and committed to delivering high standards.
