Job description

The Grove Junior School is seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated Caretaker to join our hardworking team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school provides a safe, secure, clean and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Duties will include site security, routine maintenance, minor repairs, health and safety checks, contractor supervision and helping to maintain the school buildings and grounds to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Is honest, reliable, hardworking and proactive
  • Has good DIY and maintenance skills
  • Takes pride in achieving high standards
  • Is willing to undertake training and develop their expertise
  • Has good organisational and basic IT skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to school life
  • Has a positive and flexible approach when working with children, staff, parents and governors

The post is for 25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with preferred working hours of 1.00pm to 6.00pm. Some flexibility may be available for the right candidate. Additional hours may be available to support out-of-hours lettings.
