Estates, Operations and Compliance Coordinator
St Barnabas Church Of England Multi Academy Trust · Bodmin · Cornwall
Job description
Our 'Bring It!' vision requires us to ensure our pupils are excited by and fully engaged in their learning and school experience more widely. We support them to use their talents to create positive school memories with their friends that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Our aim is to inspire a lifetime of adventure.
As a Church of England Trust, we support its vision for education which is deeply Christian, with Jesus' promise of 'life in all its fullness' at its heart.
Are you proactive, highly organised, and looking for a role that combines administrative precision with hands-on estate operations?
St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is seeking an Estates Operations & Compliance Coordinator to join our team. This is a vital role designed to strengthen our operational processes and ensure our schools remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments for our staff and pupils.
Reporting directly to the Estates Manager, you will be the backbone of our estates team’s administrative and compliance functions. No two days are the same; you will balance high-level compliance monitoring with essential site-based support. Your day-to-day will involve:
Compliance & H&S: Managing our compliance databases, overseeing contractor RAMS and insurance documentation, and supporting the Estates Manager with health and safety reviews.
Operational Support: Liaising with contractors, assisting with procurement and orders, and ensuring our Google Drive hierarchy for policies and compliance is structured and accessible.
Hands-on Assistance: Supporting our wider site team through site visits, covering absences, and providing essential manual support during school holiday maintenance periods.
Who We Are Looking For
You are a "can-do" individual who stays calm under pressure. You possess excellent communication skills and understand the importance of discretion and confidentiality. While experience with compliance systems or building maintenance is advantageous, your positive attitude, proactivity, and ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders are what matter most.
Why Join Us?
We value work-life balance and are pleased to offer this position with a flexible working pattern of 30 to 37 hours per week. We are happy to discuss how we can tailor this to suit the right candidate while ensuring the needs of the Trust are met.
Please note: This role is essential and as such we will be interviewing as suitable applicants apply. We reserve the right to close this role early should vacancies be filled before the closing date.
St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all staff and job applicants. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive working environment in which all individuals can make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
We do not discriminate against staff based on age, race, nationality, ethnic origin, religious or political belief or affiliation, trade union membership, gender, gender reassignment, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, sexual orientation, disability, socio-economic background or any other inappropriate distinction or characteristic covered by the Equality Act 2010.
St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. Please be aware that all shortlisted candidates will have an online search conducted as part of the Trust’s due diligence checks in line with KCSIE.
In all of our trust schools any employee may be required to be moved into a role which meets disqualification under the Childcare Act requirements.
Please be aware that all shortlisted candidates will have an online search conducted as part of the Trust’s due diligence checks in line with KCSIE.
