Lift Cam Woodfield Junior · Dursley · Gloucestershire

Job description

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our driven school. For ambitious applicants, future career progression is possible through our Level 3 and Level 5 Teaching Assistant apprenticeships and Lift Schools's Initial Teacher Training programme.

Your new school
Lift Camfield Junior has recently joined Lift Schools, one of the largest Multi Academy Trusts in the country. This allows us to stay true to our local roots, while also drawing on the phenomenal wealth of expertise and resources that comes with being part of a national network of schools. We have recently appointed a new Head of School, Tiyana Thompson, she has worked within the trust for over eight years and brings a wealth of experience. She believes in providing a rich and engaging curriculum that develops curiosity, deepens thinking and nurtures a lifelong love of learning.

At Lift Camfield Junior we are passionate about creating a happy, nurturing and inspiring environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. Through engaging lessons, exciting opportunities and a supportive school community, we help every child build confidence, develop their talents and reach their full potential. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life, and we're proud to be part of their journey. We have camping trips, visits to the zoo, curriculum days, outdoor learning and much more.

About the role
You'll work alongside teachers to improve learning and help students access the curriculum with confidence. Your work will support independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. You'll help students develop skills to manage their own learning, and you'll build trusted relationships that make a real difference.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand students' learning needs, including specific SEND needs, so they can access lesson content and achieve learning goals
  • Work together with teachers to plan, deliver and assess high quality lessons
  • Guide individual and small group sessions within agreed plans
  • Build positive relationships with students and support positive behaviours
  • Support the social, emotional, mental health and wellbeing of all students
  • Work with teaching staff, pastoral staff, the SENDCO and parents or carers to support every student

We are looking for someone who
You'll have GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or above) or equivalent, or be willing to work towards functional skills. You'll have good communication skills and a calm approach when faced with different situations. Can you show patience and empathy when understanding the needs and challenges of students?

You'll be a reflective person, aware of your strengths and open to feedback. You'll work well with colleagues, understanding your role within the classroom and providing support when needed. Are you ready to be part of a team that truly values inclusion and growth?
