Job description
Help us Shape Greater Futures at Cirencester Kingshill School
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and play an important role in shaping the future of Cirencester Kingshill School. We are currently seeking one independent Trustee from outside the school and one Parent/Carer Trustee.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our school and the lives of our young people. As a Trustee, you will work alongside fellow Trustees and school leaders to help set the school's vision, ethos and strategic direction, provide appropriate challenge and scrutiny, and help ensure that decisions support the best possible outcomes for our students. Trustees also play an important role in overseeing the school's financial performance.
At Kingshill, our ambition is to Shape Greater Futures. We want every student to leave us not only with strong qualifications, but with the character, experiences and ambition to shape their own future.
Who are we looking for?
We would welcome applications from people who can bring their skills, experience and perspective to our Board. You should have leadership or management experience, strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for education and the welfare of young people. Experience within education, finance, accounting or the legal profession would be particularly valuable, although this is not essential.
You will need to be confident asking constructive and probing questions, engaging in robust discussion and working collaboratively with others.
What can you gain?
Becoming a Trustee provides the opportunity to:
• make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people;
• gain valuable experience in governance and educational leadership;
• access relevant training and professional development;
• contribute your professional knowledge and experience to the strategic development of the school; and
• work alongside a dedicated team of Trustees, professionals and stakeholders.
This is a voluntary, unpaid role, with external training and related travel expenses covered.
Time commitment
Trustees are expected to make every effort to attend Board meetings, with at least three Board meetings each school year, together with any relevant Committee meetings and appropriate induction and development opportunities.
How to apply
Click on apply - above/below. Please complete the Trustee Data Collection form and provide:
• details of two referees;

• preferably, a short letter explaining how your skills and experience would support you in the role of Trustee.
Closing date: 9.00am, 16th November 2026
Early applications are encouraged and the school reserves the right to close the vacancy early.
Applications are handled on Teaching Vacancies (GOV.UK).
