Upper Key Stage 2 Classroom Teaching Assistant

Job description

The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and dedicated to making a difference to children's learning. You will need to enjoy working with children and be passionate and committed to helping children develop as independent and confident individuals. This role will help support pupils to access all aspects of learning and self-help skills. You will work closely with class teachers and phase leaders.

You will need to have a NVQ level 3 and a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (C or above) with a high standard of written and spoken English. First Aid qualifications would be desirable.

This permanent position will be for a total of 30 hours per week (08:45 - 15:15 with a 30 minute break). You would be expected to attend all INSET days.

  • Shows willingness and the capability to plan and run targeted small-group interventions.

  • Communicates confidently and clearly to set high expectations for behavior and learning.

  • Understands that building positive relationships is the foundation for student success.

Shortlisting will be completed by assessing against the advertised person specification. Our interviews will always include relevant questions relating to teaching and will include questions on child protection and/or safeguarding, behaviour and safety. There will also be an observation element to the selection day and a task.
